Job Description


The Department of Applied Human Sciences is seeking applicants to fill the position of Health Research Network Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees grant finances, financial reporting and budgeting
  • Monitors budget and expenditures for all HRN accounts alongside Principal Investigator
  • Represents the Health Research Network as the initial point of personal contact and exhibits polite and professional communication via phone, email and mail with the students, public, faculty, staff and community organizations
  • Liaises with Research Services, Human Resources, Controllers office, and other university departments
  • Creates and prepares meeting agendas, takes minutes, assembles and distributes materials and tracks action items
  • Provides support and works in collaboration with all staff and students in Health Research Network
  • Administrative tasks: credit card statements to be paid monthly, ordering supplies, hiring staff and updating current staffing contacts
  • Ensures sensitive and confidential information is maintained in a professional manner
  • Works with Research Services Department to ensure proper documentation is submitted through internal system
  • Works with the Comptroller\'s Office staff to ensure HRN compliance and consistency with University Financial policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year of education or certificate in HR or finances
  • 3 years of work experience in administrative setting
  • Experience and use of computers with various software programs such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and take initiative where appropriate. Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to function as a member of a team in a busy academic department
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Intercultural competence and function as an effective member of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate superior customer service orientation and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Familiarity with University regulations and policies will be considered an asset
