The Program Assistant Overnight/RPN under the direction of the Program Supervisor is responsible for service delivery in the overnight Adult Day Program setting including program planning and implementation, and direct client care.This position includes providing medical assistance including medication administration in accordance with the College of Nurses' Standards of Practice.

We are currently seeking a full-time RPN for our overnight Respite Program. This role is an 18 month contract.



This position requires working at our Wingham Location on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9pm - 9am.



RESPONSIBILITIES:



Assists in planning and implementing a variety of therapeutic, social and recreational activities for dementia clients. Assists clients in performing activities of daily living including bathing and toileting. Administer Medication to clients and train unregulated staff to perform delegated tasks within establishment parameters. Maintains accurate and confidential client records. Works cooperatively and communicates effectively with team members including staff, volunteers and caregivers. Ensures the rights and privacy of clients, volunteers and staff are maintained. Housekeeping duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:



C*urrent Certificate of Competence as a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse through the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Three to five years related work experience. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including ability to facilitate group activities. Gentle Persuasive Approach, uFirst, Montessori or Dementiability would be considered an assett. Physically capable of performing assigned duties including assisting with client transfers. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. Current First Aid and CPR required. Valid driver's license, insurance and use of a vehicle. Ability to speak French would be considered an assett.
