Job Summary



The Admissions & Records Specialist is an integral part of our team, providing administrative and ongoing support for applicants to our paramedic programs and graduates after their program of study has concluded. This position requires exemplary customer service as it serves as the primary point of contact for applicants who often have unique and complex needs. It is a blend of clerical, administrative, operational and project coordination tasks.

The successful candidate is a quick learner, comfortable with online systems, and thrives in a dynamic environment. They are a self-motivated worker who can also collaborate with others and they are excited to have a direct and lasting impact on paramedic education in the province.

Key Responsibilities and Duties



Answering front line inquiries via phone, email or in person

Reviewing and processing student applications; preparing admissions packages

Coordinating invoices and processing payments

Tracking and submitting student information, preparing enrollment reports for regulatory partners (ex. SABC, PTIRU)

Preparing student transcripts and certificates/diplomas

Performing general office duties as required

Skills and Qualifications



High school graduation, plus 1-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience

Proven ability to meet deadlines, establish priorities and maintain a high level of accuracy, while managing a high volume of work during peak periods

Ability to take initiative and exercise sound independent judgement within areas of responsibility

Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to provide high levels of customer service

Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented

High level of computer literacy, with a minimum of intermediate level experience with Word, Outlook, and Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to respond professionally, courteously and in a clear manner

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, including students, staff, faculty, external health partners and the public

Demonstrated skills in project management (planning, leading, coordinating, organizing and communicating)

Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and discretion

Knowledge of the education sector is an asset

Compensation and Benefits



This is a permanent, full-time position. We also offer 3 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid annual sick leave days (which can be used for yourself or to care for immediate family members), an option of medical benefits or a paid amount in lieu, and flexible scheduling practices that include the potential for shifting schedules, occasional telecommuting/remote work and banking time off, subject to operational requirements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.50-$29.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
