This position has a term length of 2 years from the date of hire, with the possibility of extension, and offers a .
Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
The Undergraduate Medical Education office in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry supports students in a four-year program leading to the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD).
Reporting to the Admissions and Academic Records Coordinator, the Administrator, MD Admissions assists in the process, evaluation and selection of applicants to the MD Program. The incumbent responds to inquiries from prospective and current applicants by providing accurate information regarding admission requirements. Responsible for MD Admissions related data analysis, supports admissions research and statistical analysis.
Responsibilities:

  • Responds to inquiries from prospective applicants, school counselors, parents, university community, professional community regarding requirements to be considered for admission, course equivalencies, document deadlines, etc. via phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
  • Collaborates with the University of Alberta Slate team to update, test, and manage the MD Program-specific question and form requirements
  • Creates reports based on a complex ranking structure for selection for interview and admission
  • Compiles, prepares, and organizes information and documentation for data reporting of MD Admissions rankings and statistics to MD Admissions Committee, Faculty, University of Alberta, and outside organizations
  • Ongoing research, evaluation and analyzation of admissions data (using Excel and SPSS software) by Admissions and Academic Records Coordinator and Assistant Dean, Admissions
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in education or statistics; a combination of education and/or experience will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years administrative experience in a post-secondary educational setting supporting student services, program delivery, learning management systems, and teaching and learning
  • Preference given to those with experience in admissions and/or statistical data and analysis
  • Knowledge of university admission policies would be an asset
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and set priorities while keeping close attention to detail
  • Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills; strong commitment to client service with a positive, professional approach
  • Excellent proofreading skills for all functions related to admission of applicants to the Medicine Program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Extensive knowledge of computers, educational technology, web page maintenance, Slate, Campus Solutions, SPSS and Photoshop
