The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

ADMINISTRATOR, SUSTAINABILITY




The Sustainability Administrator will provide administrative support to the health, safety, security and environment team which may include records management, report generation, preparing correspondence, tracking and analyzing safety statistics. This position is mine site based on a rotational schedule, but will work remotely until room is available on site.


Key Responsibilities




Area 1:


Provide administrative support to the sustainability department.


Administer the corrective action tracking system and escalate communications for incomplete or untimely completion of corrective action. Assist in document template development. Enter and maintain incident and other data housed in the Intelex platform. Coordinate safety-related meetings, prepare agendas, take and publish minutes. Order and organize office stationery supply and equipment, as needed. Manage the administration of sustainability communications. Contribute to the document control efforts until such time that a designated Document Controller is added to the project team. Other duties, as assigned.

Area 2:


Provide basic level customer support.


Distribute Safety Talk information to Supervisors. Maintain HSSE and Supervisory SharePoint sites. Manage the administration of sustainability communications. Respond and direct any questions or concerns pertaining to the health and safety department. Communicate regularly with operations personnel to ensure reports and actions are submitted in a timely manner.

Area 3:


Maintain key performance indicators for sustainability department.


Collect and compile working hours and incident data to maintain site lagging KPIs. Collect completed FLRA cards, workplace inspections, completed safety talks, peer-to-peer observations forms, etc. and maintain site leading KPIs. Maintain site KPI dashboards. Analyze FLRA card data and provide non-conformance and trending data to the Sustainability and Supervisory teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

High school diploma with related post-secondary training and/or advanced business and management courses.

Work experience - Nature & Length


A minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements


Computer literate and proficient in word processing, data entry, spreadsheets. Experience with PowerBI is considered an asset. Effective communication skills, verbal and written. Proven ability to balance several tasks simultaneously and excellent organizational skills. Ability to work with others in a team environment. Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments. Pleasant and courteous in interpersonal interactions. Knowledge of basic office functions, i.e., office machines, telephone systems, copier, fax, binding machines. Highly motivated and independently driven with a sense of urgency.
