Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary objective of this position is to ensure the timely and effective managemement of impounded vehicles. This requires a detailed review of impound entry details to ensure all provincial requirements are met. This position will serve as a point of contact in maintaining customer and vendor relationships, including assignment follow up, fee authorizations, and payout approvals, reviewing incoming notices, contacting registered owner and lien holder regarding impound details, and referring the account for appropriate follow up. The primary objective of this position is the timely review of all impound vehicle files and proper queuing for account or vehicle follow up.
This position will work closely with registered owner, law enforcement, external vendors as well as internal departments as both a service-provider and service-recipient. The successful candidate should be self-directed in work prioritization, be able to work seamlessly between and among several databases and should be able to demonstrate good decision-making ability within the scope of the position?s areas of responsibility. The administrator will perform all duties in accordance with Herb?s Towing policies and procedures and all provincial regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review impound vehicle files
  • Recovery of seized vehicle, following State and Federal Guidelines
  • Maintain effective communication with registered owners, law enforcement, repossession agents, collection and other internal departments.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & LICENSES:
  • Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate PC skills; ability to work with multiple platforms.
  • Good interpersonal skills and teamwork awareness.
  • Familiarity with vehicle values, reconditioning cost / benefits, and wholesale remarketing channels desirable.
  • Ability to understand and interpret province-specific RSLA laws on third-party liens for storage and repairs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in consumer credit or banking, preferably in automotive finance, impounds or repossessions is helpful.
MACHINES, OFFICE EQUIPMENT & SOFTWARE:
  • Web navigation and/or wed-based applications
  • Personal computer: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • 10- key calculator and QWERTY keyboard skills.
  • Copier, Faxing & other general office supplies.
PAY RATE:
  • Base pay of $17.00 per hour depending on ability and experience
