Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant - SOP & Business Support to help develop and maintain the systems that keep True North operating efficiently.
This role focuses on documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), coordinating training and certification tracking, supporting the creation and upkeep of the company's business plan, and maintaining structured records that support company growth.
The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, enjoys process development, and takes pride in producing clear, professional documentation that helps the entire team succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all departments
Collaborate with management to create and update the company's business plan
Assist in developing and maintaining a skills matrix for all company positions
Track employee certifications, renewals, and required training (Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid, etc.)
Coordinate employee training schedules and maintain compliance records
Research government programs, industry regulations, or process improvements as directed
Maintain organized document libraries and ensure consistent formatting and version control
Create templates, forms, and reference documents (Word, Excel, PDF)
Support management with report preparation, data summaries, and meeting coordination
Maintain effective internal communication regarding procedural and policy updates
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of administrative, research, or documentation experience
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Experience with project management or CRM systems (Zoho, Notion, etc.) is an asset
Familiarity with construction, safety, or compliance documentation a plus
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
