Your Opportunity:The Department of Surgery is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting, and engaged individual to join our team as the Administrative Support VI - Program Administrator (PA) for the ENT Residency Training Program. The PA will coordinate and oversee the department\'s residency training program. The ideal candidate must possess a thorough understanding of the requirements, policies, and procedures of the residency program. Additionally, the PA must be knowledgeable about the structure of the department, Alberta Health Services (AHS), Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), the University of Calgary, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. The PA establishes positive partnerships with residents, preceptors, teaching units, clinics, sites, campuses, and other support staff. This role requires working independently with minimal supervision on diverse tasks that demand a broad range of knowledge and skills. Confidentiality is paramount. The PA may develop or initiate changes to procedures and practices and make decisions independently. Strong organizational skills are essential to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects, and flexibility is required for occasional events outside regular office hours. The PA also provides general administrative support to the section of ENT residency as directed by the section chief and the residency program directors. Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. diploma in business or office administration, specialized external certification). Additional Required Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field; or 2 years of post-secondary education plus 10 years of experience in a complex administration role (preference given to candidates with a bachelor\'s degree). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. At least 3-5 years of previous experience in program administration, preferably in a healthcare or academic setting. Previous experience in project and change management. Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with diverse teams. Demonstrated a record of excellent attendance. Openness to feedback and a proactive approach to professional development. Comfortable working in an unstructured environment and dealing with change and uncertainty.
