If you are a Medical Office Assistant with advanced administrative skills and knowledge with the ability to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives throughout surgical departments and programs this may be the opportunity for you! Reporting to the Clinic Manger, the successful candidate will be a key member of a dedicated team responsible for providing clinical and clerical support to a team of physicians caring for patients, families throughout Northern Alberta. As the initial point of contact, you will be expected to communicate in an effective and professional manner while always maintaining confidentiality. You will be responsible to manage physician scheduling that includes operative time, ambulatory clinic appointments, call schedules, educational rounds, and committee meetings. You will liaise with a range of health-related personnel to schedule consultations, procedures, investigative tests, follow up appointments and re-bookings., patient reception and registration. Clerical duties will also include the management and maintenance of office equipment and supplies. Clinical support may include basic functions deemed appropriate to be performed by a person in an unregulated healthcare position, such as, but not limited to, obtaining, and recording of vital signs, transferring, or transporting patients and equipment.
