Your Opportunity:

The Medical Physics Department at the Cross Cancer Institute is looking for a highly skilled, conscientious, self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative team-based work environment. Medical Physics is a large vibrant department with clinical, academic/teaching, service and research responsibilities. This team member contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department by accurately performing diverse and complex administrative tasks in a confidential, responsible and professional manner. It requires good communication, above average computer skills, and a commitment to the AHS core values of compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and safety. Responsibilities include: Recording, transcribing, distributing minutes for weekly department staff meetings, and other meetings as required. Performing reception and switchboard duties for the Medical Physics Department, including triaging incoming calls and appropriately managing urgent requests for clinical Medical Physics assistance. Arranging virtual and in-person meetings, presentations and events, and coordinating required resources. As necessary, prepares and distributes related documentation, notices and advertising. Creating, maintaining and updating a variety of databases, reference materials, records, files and departmental resources. Composing, formatting, editing and/or creating correspondence, reports, notices, meeting agendas and minutes, spreadsheets, posters and other documents. Maintaining a variety of office equipment, assisting and training users as necessary. Other supportive tasks that contribute to the general efficiency of the office such as maintaining stationery supplies, submitting facility work requests, filing, petty cash, reconciling financial information, photocopying, distributing mail.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education. Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently and as a reliable team member. Must be conscientious, accurate, and possess a strong work ethic and good judgement. Well organized, able to prioritize workflow, and manage changing priorities despite numerous interruptions. Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal, written, listening) skills. Able to work effectively with all members of multidisciplinary healthcare and scientific teams. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare is an asset. Experience with SharePoint, PowerPoint and/or updating web pages an asset. Experience taking minutes at meetings dealing with technical issues desirable.
