Your Opportunity:
The Department of Surgery is seeking a detail-oriented Privileging Assistant (Admin IV) to support physician privileging and appointment processes across surgical programs. This role coordinates Medical Staff Appointments and Non-Appointed Medical Staff applications to ensure physicians, locums, residents, fellows, and physician extenders are appropriately credentialed and authorized to practice within Alberta Health Services. The position also provides limited financial and administrative support related to on-call payments. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate physician privileging and reappointments for surgeons, locums, surgical assistants, clinical associates, residents, fellows, and physician extenders. Prepare and submit Medical Staff Appointment (MSA) and Non-Appointed Medical Staff (NAMS) applications in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Contracts & Agreements. Verify required documentation including CPSA Practice Permits, CMPA Statements of Protection, CVs, and related approvals. Track appointment terms, expiries, approvals, and annual AIVA requirements; initiate follow-up and change requests as needed. Serve as a point of contact for privileging inquiries and communicate approvals to Section Chiefs and administrative teams. Provide limited financial support by processing on-call and trauma-related physician payments in accordance with established schedules and procedures. Perform general administrative duties in support of departmental operations; responsibilities may be adjusted at the discretion of the Manager.
