Your Opportunity:
The Administrative Support IV position provides administrative support to assigned oncologists in the Department of Oncology for their clinical, academic, administrative, education, and research duties. The role requires effective communication on behalf of the physicians with patients, staff, and the public. The clinical administrative component involves managing patient charts, completing insurance forms, prescription requests, triaging patient calls to the appropriate area, coordinating and requesting surgical procedures, clinical appointments and diagnostic tests, and other documentation. The academic administrative support component includes preparation of CVs, annual reports, grant applications, processing university finances, and other related tasks. Other responsibilities include answering and responding to telephone calls, composing a variety of correspondence including scientific material and transcribing reports, meeting coordination and minute taking, calendar management, educational and clinical round coordination, travel coordination, invoicing, providing coverage for colleagues and the front desk as required, learning various workflows within the department, navigating and performing various workflows in Connect Care, and completing assigned projects and other duties as needed.

Some post-secondary education. Additional Required Qualifications:
The candidate will have a minimum of three years of related and progressive administrative experience within an acute care and academic medical setting. This experience must include direct support of multiple physicians, with relevant experience in physician academic, administrative, research, education, clinical and surgical practice support as it relates to Medical Affairs and the Department of Oncology workflows, processes, and procedures. The candidate must have completed a course(s) in medical terminology, be able to type 60-70 words per minute, and have proficient skills using Microsoft Office. They must have strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and be self-motivated requiring minimal supervision. The candidate must have the ability to think critically, problem-solve, and work under pressure while manage competing and changing priorities. They must exercise professionalism, good judgement, tact, and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive and confidential matters. Candidates may be required to undergo skill testing. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with relevant Connect Care workflows. Experience with Netcare. Courses in professional writing and communication.
