Your Opportunity:

This Administrative Support IV position provides administrative support to 3-5 academic physicians within the Department of Pediatrics at the Alberta Children\'s Hospital. This position is responsible for supporting the coordination and management of the daily activities of the physicians while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment characterized by frequent interruptions. In order to function effectively and be successful in this role, the incumbent should have a comprehensive understanding of the operations of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary - Cumming School of Medicine. The incumbent will work with minimal supervision to complete tasks where considerable judgment, tact, creativity and initiative are required in resolving issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills, who works well independently and as part of a team. Must competently handle changing priorities within tight deadlines. Professionalism is paramount in representing the Physicians/Division/Department/Region or University to both internal and external stakeholders. The hours of this position are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:15 pm.

Required Qualifications:

Some post-secondary education. Additional Required Qualifications:

Equivalent experience of 3 years at an intermediate administrative level may be considered. Attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills - testing will be completed to confirm. Strong communication skills. Minimum Intermediate competency in Microsoft Office Suite - testing will be completed to confirm. 40-50 wpm typing, testing will be completed to confirm. Previous experience with calendar management, minute taking, and creating agendas required; (2 years preferred). Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with appropriate judgment and discretion. Previous experience with basic accounting and managing expenses; experience with Research & Trust accounting through U of C preferred. Previous event planning experience. 2 years of full-time experience in an intermediate administrative capacity in a Health Care setting. Previous experience with scheduling and/or Regional on Call (ROCA). Experience with U of C processes and programs (e.g., R&T accounting, PeopleSoft). Experience supporting Academic Physicians, Physician Investigators, or Physician Leaders. Medical terminology.
