Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Unit Manager, Pediatric Ambulatory Care, this position: Greets patients and answers the telephone. Coordinates the flow of patients and provides clerical support in a high volume, busy ambulatory setting. Schedules appointments using Connect Care and verifies patient information. Checks patients in and out for visits Supports a multitude of clinics within the Ambulatory portfolio. Cross training to other ambulatory units will be required. Books appointments and meetings for clinicians/teams. Provides equipment and ordering supplies in the clinical area. Performs other clerical duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of Grade 12 with successful completion of post-secondary secretarial/unit clerk training with medical terminology is required. Two to three years of recent pediatric acute and/or Pediatric Ambulatory care experience is required. Proficiency with medical terminology and strong computer and typing skills are required. Experience with Connect Care, Microsoft Office, and excel required. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) is required. Must be able to push/pull/lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and work in awkward positions. Strong communication skills with a courteous and pleasant front desk reception/telephone manner are desired when working with the public. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload. Professional behavior and excellent interpersonal skills are required when working with the public in this position. Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and ability to adapt quickly are desirable qualities. Must be able to work effectively in a complex, busy, noisy clinic environment and complete tasks while dealing with multiple interruptions. The Stollery Children's Hospital and the Ambulatory Clinic's provide Family Centered Care, and it is expected that all employees support this model of care. Preferred Qualifications:
