Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is hiring an Administrative Support II to join our outpatient lab and specimen receiving team. This role provides exceptional administrative and customer service support in a fast-paced, team-oriented acute care hospital environment. Responsibilities include greeting patients and health professionals, ensuring accurate specimen handling and positive identification, performing data entry and reception duties, troubleshooting and escalating issues, documenting occurrences, and completing administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, report distribution, and archiving. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in data entry and successfully complete a keyboarding assessment as required by APL. Must show clear comprehension and communication skills through verbal and written interactions. Strong customer service skills are required, with the ability to accurately identify and respond to stakeholder needs. Must meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and follow established procedures to ensure privacy and safety. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications is essential. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and resolve issues constructively is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Office Assistant certificate or relevant post-secondary education. Knowledge of medical terminology and lab tests. Recent (last 6 months) data entry experience preferred. Background in healthcare or clinical labs. Training in customer service, data entry, Respectful Workplace, and Conflict Resolution. Demonstrates initiative, analytical thinking, and adaptability to change.
