As an Administrative Support I (ASI), you are the first point of contact for specimens arriving at our DSC Hub Lab. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will keep our operations running smoothly and efficiently. You'll receive and transport specimens between floors using carts and dumbwaiters; check empty transport containers, replenish supplies, and prepare containers for distribution back to sending sites; scan and validate requisitions into our electronic system; perform daily quality checks and maintain equipment cleanliness. Collaborate with your team to deliver exceptional service to internal and external clients. Uphold confidentiality and follow safety protocols at every step. To be successful in this role, you can stand for extended periods and frequently push/pull carts weighing up to 200lbs; be comfortable lifting specimen containers up to 40lbs throughout your shift; have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, initiative to address issues proactively and be a team player who values accuracy, efficiency, and customer service. Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Basic computer and keyboarding skills. Previous experience with heavy materials distribution including lifting (>40lbs) and maneuvering large rolling carts (>200lbs). Able to walk and stand for long periods and regularly reach, lift, and carry items weighing up to 40lbs. First Aid/CPR (required to complete after hiring).
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with logistics tracking systems. Effective verbal and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills. Previous LIS document scanning and filing experience.
