POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides administrative support to the day to day operation of the Pre& Post Renal Transplant Clinic. All patient related details and clinic activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic and adherence to the policies and procedures of the hospital and the Department of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Grade 12 diploma and 2 year college diploma in medical office administration.
Medical terminology certificate.
Minimum of six months experience in providing administrative support in a hospital clinic setting is required
Basic skill level is required for medical terminology
Basic skill level is required for MS Word
Basic skill level is required for typing speed
Intermediate skill level is required for MS Excel, medical spelling and spelling
Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process
Good data entry skills are required
A work background indicating ability to meet the public, handle stress, maintain good interpersonal relationships and communicate effectively both in person and by telephone is required
Maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and stressful situations
Applicants must have a pleasant, courteous disposition and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy environment
Good work performance and a good attendance record are essential

Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both in person and by telephone.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules patient appointments and referrals, booking any required or follow-up tests/procedures through appropriate departments
Triages incoming calls to clinic, answering immediate concerns, and referring other calls as required. This includes mail distribution and faxes
Performs patient follow-up for any missed appointments
Prepares clinic charts for each day, ensuring that all pertinent patient information is charted and stamped correctly (e.g. bloodwork, progress notes, prescriptions).
Ensures all filing is up to date for clinic appointments
Obligation to review and commit to applicable departmental and hospital policies and procedures
Completes weekly clinic statistics and monthly census reports
Orders all clinic and office supplies
WAGE RATE:
Hourly: $28.87....... $31.14 .......$31.37
