UNIT PROFILE:
Inpatient Medical Services provides comprehensive medical care for inpatients at the West 5th Campus in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This includes admission health reviews, chronic disease management, as well as assessment and treatment of acute medical/health concerns.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The ADS08 provides administrative support to the employees of the West 5th Inpatient Medical Services team, including the Manager, Physicians, Nursing team, and ECT Team, ensuring all operational functions are handled with efficiency, professionalism and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a 2 year post-secondary diploma program in medical office administration, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience required.
3 years' recent related experience providing administrative support within a busy mental health setting required.
Demonstrated advanced skill level typing speed and accuracy required.
Demonstrated Intermediate skill level in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Demonstrated Intermediate skill level spelling, medical spelling and medical terminology required.
Clerical testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated grammatical aptitude, good spelling and punctuation required.
Demonstrated proficiency and efficiency using specialized computer software/applications: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Muffin, and Clinical Browser required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships while handling multiple tasks, conflicting priorities and frequent interruptions required.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to accurately and efficiently enter data, type correspondence/memos/reports, book appointments, and answer telephone calls required.
Demonstrated excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and set own work priorities with minimal supervision required.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality required.
Good work performance and attendance record are essential.
WAGE RATE:
$28.19.....$29.40.....$30.61 (plus 14% in lieu)
