Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an Administrative Secretary to join the Medical Imaging Admin team at Vancouver General Hospital and UBC Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As an Administrative Secretary with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support functions within the Radiology Department.
  • Type a variety of technical and non-technical material utilizing advanced word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing and presentation graphics software as well as types medical consultation/documents/letters for the department utilizing dictating equipment and the Radiology Information System.
  • Processes appointment records, coordinates Work Schedule, creates On-Call schedule, and administers funds such as academic and/or education for medical personnel, as well as compiles information and statistical records for analysis.
  • Maintain appointment diaries, arranges meetings/appointments, prioritizes mail, identifies inconsistencies in procedures and recommends changes, maintains filing systems, and attends meetings to provide secretarial support and follow up action.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Grade 12.
  • Graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including knowledge of medical terminology, and three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Ability to keyboard at 60 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status will be required.
