Overview:
The Financial Aid Officer is responsible for providing information, guidance, and support to prospective and current students regarding financial planning, student financial assistance, loan repayment, and external funding opportunities. This hybrid position also supports the Admissions and Finance departments with administrative duties, requiring a high degree of organization, communication, and accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities - Financial Aid
Advise students on financial planning for post-secondary education, including government aid programs, scholarships, and external resources.
Provide individualized support to students completing student loan applications and related documents, reviewing submissions for completeness and accuracy.
Conduct one-on-one meetings to assist with student loan applications.
Confirm student enrollment and complete program information forms for various provincial and federal student aid programs.
Create tuition payment amendments in accordance with student loan disbursements and institutional financial policies.
Maintain regular communication with government student loan offices and respond to requests.
Conduct entrance and exit interviews for student loan recipients.
Track tuition payments and manage payment due dates.
Maintain organized and compliant student financial aid files, including regular internal audits.
Ensure institutional compliance with all relevant student loan policies and program requirements.
Process student withdrawals who are receiving loans and provide them with accurate information on policies and procedures.
Secondary Responsibilities - Administrative Support
Support the Admissions department by:
Tracking admissions requirements
Administering and grading entrance exams
Processing entrance exam payments
Creating and organizing admissions documentation and files
Registering students and maintaining records in PROFF (student management system)
Collect and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as enrollment and graduate data.
Assist the Finance department with student-related data entry, payment coordination, and policy adherence.
Skills & Qualifications:
College diploma or university degree preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, especially during peak periods
Self-motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
