Job Description


About the Role

Administers operating, specific project, special purpose and research budgets (University funds 13, 21, and approximately 100 research grants), project budgets, and grant funding provided to the School of Interactive Arts & Technology. Manages the office operating budget and administers the purchasing process. Supervises support staff. Plans, oversees, and coordinates events. Researches and prepares a variety of surveys and written reports.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree and two years of related experience which includes experience in financial administration, human resource management, and event planning, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Good knowledge of accounting, purchasing, and grant management.
  • Good knowledge of Canadian granting agency regulations.
  • Good knowledge of database design concepts.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and conflict management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Excellent intercultural communication skills.
  • Excellent human resources management skills.
  • Ability to advise students in a careful and consistent way and provide advice on course choices and program planning.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and the terms and conditions of contractual agreements.
  • Ability to use standard office software applications and systems.
