Job Description

Transdev is now hiring an Administrative Clerk for our Kamloops Location, BC!





As an Administrative Clerk, you will provide

flexible administrative support across multiple departments

-- including reception, scheduling, dispatch, and maintenance -- ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service.




Your role:




Reception:




Provide front-desk support by greeting visitors, answering phone calls, and handling general inquires or client communication. Process transit ticket transactions (e.g. HandyDART tickets), including receiving payments and reconciling manifests. Perform general office duties: maintain lost-and-found items, order and stock office supplies, uniform ordering, sort and distribute mail, and track public complaints. Assist with administrative support tasks (such as basic acccounting assistance) while upholding a professional, customer focused service approach.

Scheduling/Booking:




Respond to client trip inquiries and reservations by phone or email; enter and manage trip bookings in the scheduling system. Plan and optimize transit routes and vehicle assignments based on trip requests and capacity requirements. Update and adjust bookings as needed (handling cancellations or changes) and communicate schedule updates to clients and drivers. Maintain accurate scheduling records: update client and trip databases, process new applications/subscriptions, and prepare relevant reports.

Dispatch:




Dispatch and monitor transit vehicles and drivers using dispatch software, ensuring scheduled pickups and drop-offs occur efficiently and safely. Track service operations via radio communications: manage delays, incidents, or emergencies by rescheduling trips, assigning relief drivers, and coordinating with transit supervisors. Ensure regulatory and policy compliance; liaise with maintenance and emergency services when incidents arise, and document all actions taken. Maintain dispatch records and logs: record trip changes, no-shows/missed trips, and complete required operational reports.

Maintenance Support:




Oversee parts inventory: order, receive, inspect, and stock vehicle parts and supplies, keeping the parts storage area organized. Manage parts documentation: update inventory systems and records, process purchase orders and invoices, and generate inventory reports. Support maintenance operations by issuing parts to technicians, processing returns or transfers, and coordinating with suppliers as needed. Maintain accurate files and reports related to parts usage and inventory control.

Your profile:




High school diploma or equivalent (required). Additional coursework or certification in office administration is an asset. At least 1-3 years of experience in an administrative, clerical, or customer service role (preferably in transit, transportation, or a related field). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience with or ability to quickly learn specialized transit scheduling software and SharePoint for record management. Comfortable with computer data entry and generating basic reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience in the transportation industry is an asset but not required.



Your location:





This is a casual, unionized on-site position located in Kamloops. The schedule consist on 8 hour daytime shifts Monday to Friday (various start times) with occasional half-day shifts on Saturdays. Shift times may vary and are subject to change based on operational needs..
