JOB DESCRIPTION

GeriMedRisk is a non-profit, interdisciplinary telemedicine geriatric clinical pharmacology and psychiatry consultation service available to clinicians. As part of a growing provincial program with multiple areas of focus (clinical service, research, quality improvement, and education), the clinical administrative assistant will support the work of the leadership team, specialist physicians and resident and medical trainees.

The successful applicant will work closely with the GeriMedRisk team to ensure successful growth of the program.

Responsibilities:



Manage scheduling-team calendar and appointments

Prepare reports, agendas, and take meeting minutes

File and maintain program and clinical policies

Assist with coordination of orientation for all trainees and new employees

Assist with physician billing

Coordinate on-call scheduling

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of knowledge translation events, and medical trainee listing

Assist with applications to Research Ethics Boards as needed

Serve as an ambassador for GeriMedRisk at conferences and showcases as required

Distribute and maintain equipment for all staff (requires 2-3 in person office per month)

Responsible for overseeing and ordering supplies

Arrange travel for conferences and presentations

Assist Executive Assistant with tasks as assigned

Education and Experience

Post-secondary office administrative diploma with a focus on medical office training

Experience working within an interdisciplinary team, healthcare setting (ideally a busy medical clinic or hospital ward)

Experience working with physicians

Experience with clinical and qualitative research, an asset

Customer service particularly with health care professionals, patients and caregivers

Experience attending conferences, an asset

Skills and Abilities

Excited to participate in and advance a busy geriatric pharmacology and psychiatry telemedicine

Strong interest in caring for senior population

Exceptional organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent time management skills and ability to problem-solve creatively

Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and as a team member in a fast paced, challenging environment

Written and verbal fluency in English

Excellent computer skills and familiarity with electronic communication devices

Demonstrated intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (ie. Word, Excel, Power Point) and online tools (eg. Mailchimp and Survey Monkey)

Demonstrated commitment to continuous life-long learning and self- improvement

Access to home office necessary; Office equipment will be supplied.

Valid driver's licence
