Bell Lumber & Pole Canada has an exciting opportunity for a full time Administrative Assistant to join the Vernon Accounting Office. We are seeking a skilled and organized individual to join our team.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Administrative Assistant will support our office by performing a variety of administrative tasks, including answering phone calls, managing files, planning office events, assisting with accounting functions, and providing general support to our staff in our business activities. The Administrative Assistant will be expected to work as part of one team to embrace the company's mission of radically loving and influencing lives, actively demonstrating the values of excellence, stewardship, and entrepreneurial spirit in both behavior and attitude.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Administrative responsibilities include but not limited to:
Answer and direct phone calls and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner
Manage files and organize documents, both physical and digital
Provide general support to staff, including photocopying and scanning.
Receive, sort and distribute the mail
Maintain computer and manual filing systems, including legal files
Maintain and replenish office and kitchen supplies
Maintain office equipment and coordinate repairs
Organize travel arrangements
Organize office events (while working within a budget)
Process customer credit applications, includes obtaining references and credit score
Provide support to the executives
Handle other administrative projects when needed
Accounting responsibilities include but not limited to:
Enter accounts payable invoices weekly
Generate vendor payments (cheques and electronic payments) weekly
Provide support to the accounting team during a month end, quarter end, year end
Providing various backup information to support transactions
Assists with requests from external parties, including auditors
Special projects and other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
:
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant combination of education and experience.
Post-Secondary Office Administration or Accounting courses
Experience/Abilities
:
Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to work in harmony with co-workers
Understanding of confidentiality
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other office software
Typing speed minimum 40 wpm
Knowledge of Microsoft D365 is an asset

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to use the computer for extended periods of time in a sitting or standing position. Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing priorities. Occasional travel to operational sites may be required.
