Founded in 1995, Time Education Inc. provides top quality tutoring services for all academic levels from Elementary to College and University. We also provide consultation services on academic and career planning, and assist students in applications to secondary schools and post-secondary institutions. Our current three campuses are located across the Greater Vancouver \xe2\x80\x93 with offices in Richmond, Vancouver and South Surrey. Our tutoring services cover a wide range of subjects including Academic English, Adult English, ESL, SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Science, Social Studies, Business, Computer Science, French, Spanish and so on. We have a strong faculty that includes school teachers with valid BC provincial accreditation and university professors. Most of our teachers are bi-lingual; therefore, students have the options for classes to be taught in Chinese and/or English. We offer both on-line and in-person classes in small group or one on one settings, targeting students with different needs and learning habits. We are currently looking for a full-time Administrative Assistant for our Vancouver office. Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time Working hours: 40 hours per week Job start date: ASAP Vacancies: 1 Wage: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Location: 2482 West 41st Ave. Vancouver BC Canada V6M 2A7 Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in related field is required Education: Completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries or previous clerical experience is required Language: English Start Date: ASAP Posted Date: Job Duties:

  • Prepare, key in, edit and proofread correspondence, invoices, presentations, brochures and other handwritten copy
  • Greet visitors, ascertain nature of business and direct visitors to employer or appropriate person
  • Coordinate and oversee procedures and policies to ensure smooth and efficient running of daily operation of the branch
  • Open and distribute incoming regular and electronic mail and other material and coordinate the flow of information internally and with other departments and organizations
  • Oversee and coordinate the weekly scheduling of tutors to ensure the effective use of human capital in the branch
  • Review students\xe2\x80\x99 progress reports prepared for parents; meet with parents periodically to discuss students\xe2\x80\x99 progress and address concerns
  • Research post-secondary institution admission requirements and policies and advice students on post-secondary applications
  • Ensure office is in current compliance with relevant polices including fire inspections; business license renewal; lease agreements etc.
  • Co-ordinate and plan for office services, such as relocations, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance and security services
  • Set monthly sales targets and budgets; record monthly expenses; petty cash reconciliation
  • Schedule monthly meetings with other administrative staff to discuss potential or existing issues of the branch and solutions
  • Record and prepare minutes of meetings
  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory
  • Answer telephone and electronic enquiries and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Prepare monthly reports to upper management on customer satisfaction, tutors evaluation; branch issues; expenses etc.
  • May supervise and train junior administrative staff on job duties, office procedures and company policies
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Proficient in English language (Written and Spoken)
  • An education background in BC or North America will be a great asset
