We're currently looking for a detail-oriented, service-driven Administrative Assistant - Transit Services to join our team on a part-time, temporary basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values flexibility in their work schedule.
What is the Opportunity?
This is a part-time (20 hours per week), temporary role for approximately one year, supporting the day-to-day administrative and customer service functions of Transit Services.
What makes this opportunity unique is the flexible scheduling -- the successful candidate can work their 20 hours across 3, 4, or 5 weekdays, as long as coverage occurs during regular business hours. This flexibility makes the role well suited for individuals balancing school, family commitments, or other professional pursuits.
Reporting to the Manager of Transit Services, this position provides essential administrative support across Transit, LATS (Leduc Assisted Transportation Service), Taxi Services, and Charter Services, while serving as a key point of contact for the public, contractors, and internal City teams.
What will you do?
In this role, you will contribute to the smooth operation of transit services by:Providing front-line customer service by responding to transit, LATS, taxi, and charter inquiries via phone, email, call centre systems, and online tools.
Supporting daily transit operations by monitoring dashboards, assisting with on-demand trips, coordinating service updates, and facilitating communication with contracted service providers.
Compiling, entering, and maintaining operational data, statistics, and records related to ridership, fleet usage, fare products, and service performance.
Coordinating public communications related to service changes, road closures, holidays, and temporary stop or route adjustments.
Supporting LATS operations by processing applications, assisting drivers and riders, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, and maintaining client databases.
Administering taxi operation and vehicle permits in accordance with the City of Leduc Taxi Bylaw, including processing applications, tracking renewals, maintaining databases, and coordinating with Planning and Enforcement.
Supporting charter services by responding to inquiries, preparing cost estimates, coordinating schedules, and processing accounts receivable requests.
Ordering and managing supplies for transit, LATS, and taxi services, including safety equipment, cleaning supplies, and permit materials.
Assisting with farebox collection processes and electronic fare systems, including ARC account support for specialized riders.
Who you are?
You are organized, adaptable, and calm under pressure. You enjoy working with systems, processes, and people -- often all at once -- and take pride in delivering accurate, timely support in a public-facing environment. You bring:Completion of high school, supplemented by administrative or office-related coursework (a business or administrative diploma is an asset).
Minimum 3 years of related administrative experience in a busy, customer-focused office environment.
Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive or complex inquiries professionally.
High attention to detail and confidence working with data, records, and multiple software systems.
The ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work independently.
Comfort working within policies, bylaws, and regulated environments (municipal transportation experience is considered an asset).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn specialized systems quickly
