Administrative Assistant





Stern Cohen is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our internal administrative team. The administrative assistant will provide accurate, timely, and responsive secretarial and administrative support to Stern Cohen's partners and practice staff in a team environment. This role requires attending the office in person 3-4 days a week.





Responsibilities





Assist Partners and Managers with financial statement preparation and production; Preparing invoices for client billings; Preparing engagement letters and other correspondence; Assembling personal and corporate tax returns; Assembling client presentation packages; Manage reception, incoming calls and other reception duties; Scanning; Filing and collating documents; Updating Taxprep re tax preparer, reviewer and partner for each T1 file; Sorting and updating Box Manager; Assist with the social committee with monthly and yearly events; Other responsibilities as required to support the Firm's operations.



Qualifications





Working experience in a similar role, with preference given to those candidates with prior experience in a public accounting firm environment; Excellent communication skills; Working knowledge of: + MS Word (required)
+ Other MS Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (required)
+ TaxPrep software familiarity
+ CaseWare familiarity
+ Time management systems
Comfortable with working with other administrators in a team setting; Must have experience working in a team and a client service environment; Must be able to deal with multiple people in a demanding environment; Proven ability to deal with sensitive materials with a high degree of tact and discretion; strong proofreading skills and orientation to detail; The ability to handle tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
