Salary positing is on the established grid and is pro-rated to Canopy's fiscal year, $40,523.83 to $47,407.15



What We Will Ask of You:

As a key member of our Central Navigation (CN) team, our Administrative Assistant plays an important role! The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact for a variety of people including; Canopy staff, service users, couriers, and visitors attending or calling the main office ensuring their needs are promptly and properly addressed. This position will provide a variety of administrative program support to the agency and its teams including; development of promotional material, event logistics, decorating, sourcing locations, booking boardrooms, liaising with vendors, collaborating with community partners and supporting with day of event coordination and support. You will be reporting to the Program Manager of Community, Engagement and Fundraising and receiving support and direction from the Team Lead, Central Navigation.

Primary Responsibilities:



Represent the agency professionally and provide a welcoming point of contact for a variety of people including; Canopy staff, service users, couriers, and visitors attending or calling the main office ensuring their needs are promptly and properly addressed. Engage in general administrative duties including but not limited to: responding to external inquiries, directing calls, faxes and forwarding messages, scheduling service intakes, mailings, data entry, monitoring inventory levels and other program related administrative tasks. Provide ongoing support to Program Manager for community engagement initiatives such as; development of promotional material, event logistics, decorating, sourcing locations, booking boardrooms, liaising with vendors, collaborating with community partners and supporting with day of event coordination and support. Responsible for reception security including; locking entryways, responding to other agency emergency protocol as needed. Work collaboratively with Canopy teams to foster and grow awareness of program initiatives, events, success stories and general awareness initiatives with agency stakeholders.

Qualifications:



Successful completion of High School or post secondary education in Office Administration or a related field or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years' relevant office administrative work experience. Experience working with developmental or social services is an asset. Direct experience working with people with an intellectual disability or equivalent. Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to challenges experience by individuals with intellectual disabilities and other diagnoses and their caregivers. Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships with team members, community partners and other stakeholders. Compassionate and responsible supporter of people, their families, and community partners. Commitment to maximize resources and improve people's quality of life. Annual completion of a Criminal Background Check/Declaration, including Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
