Northwood is currently accepting applications for a
Administrative Assistant - Organizational Health and Safety/Labour Relations reporting
to the Manager, Organization Health and Safety
Qualifications:
Community College Diploma; a one year administrative or business course
Two years of relevant work experience
Knowledge of office equipment (e.g. photocopier, fax machine) required
Proficiency in typing (50 words per minute) required
Experience working in a similar environment is considered an asset
Major Responsibilities:
Provides administrative/clerical support to the Manger, Organizational Health and Safety / Labour Relations
Provides administrative support for members of Organizational Health and Safety Team and Occupational Health Nurses
Attends meetings, takes minutes, prepares reports for the Organizational Health and Safety Team
Researches and prepares materials for display
Gathers and inputs workplace injury related reports
Maintains employee files and databases
Supports the development of the WCB quarter board report
Actively involved and provide strong administrative support to the Attendance Management Program, including providing statistical reports to managers across the People Services Team and Departmental managers.
Acts as a recorder for Occupational Health and Safety Committees and others; takes and prepares minutes, supports agenda planning and provides support follow up action plan
Maintains office environment, supplies and equipment
Provides callers, visitors, and staff with appropriate greeting, information and assistance
Maintains contacts, both internally and externally, on behalf of Manager, dealing with requests and maintaining calendars as needed
Creates promotional displays
Maintains databases, statistics and file management for the corporate occupational health and safety program and other projects/programs as needed
Conducts information/literature searches for projects/programs as needed
Compiles data for special projects and for generating corporate reports
Supports the team with the development of Organizational Health Policies and Procedures. Co-ordinating the review date schedule for timely issue to Quality Council.
