Join our team at the Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) and provide crucial support to those navigating the criminal court process. Your work will empower victims and witnesses, ensuring they receive the information, assistance, and emotional support they need.
About the job

As an Administrative Assistant with the Victim/Witness Assistance Program (VWAP), you'll help support victims and witnesses of crime. In your first six months, you will:
Answer Questions:
Help clients, justice workers, and community agencies by providing information and directing complex cases to the right VWAP staff.
Assist Clients in Crisis:
Calm and support distressed clients, using your empathy and communication skills to understand their needs and guide them to the right resources.
Manage Case Files:
Review legal documents and referrals, flag important cases, and gather necessary information to support the VWAP team.
Keep the Office Running Smoothly:
Set up and update confidential files, manage office supplies, and ensure office equipment works properly.
Organize Meetings and Appointments:
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and keep track of appointments for the Manager and Program staff.
Improve the Program:
Identify areas for improvement and suggest ways to make the VWAP more efficient and effective.
