MaKami College is growing and has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team. If you are well-versed in the Moodle Learning Platform (or similar Learning Management System), this role may be an ideal fit for you. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our Lead Instructors and assisting students throughout their program.
Key Responsibilities: (Including but not limited to)

  • Assist in the setup and organization of courses within Moodle, including creating course shells, adding content, and configuring grading settings.
  • Collaborate with content creators and instructors to ensure course materials are uploaded, accessible, and functioning correctly.
  • Create and monitor students\' sign-ups for workshops, labs, and other student events.
  • Synchronize Master Calendars and student schedules on Moodle.
  • Implement date-based restrictions for specific course components.
  • Launch, monitor and collect data from students\xe2\x80\x99 surveys on Moodle.
  • Maintain accurate student records on Moodle.
  • Upload new programs onto Moodle and assist with program curriculum updates.
  • Provide Moodle support to students via phone, video call, email or in person.
  • Assist the Moodle team with additional requests from students and staff.
  • Foster strong relationships with students to address their learning needs.
  • Assist with setting up classrooms (i.e., Labs, students\xe2\x80\x99 orientations)
  • Contribute to remediation activities for learners.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational aptitude with acute attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Proficiency in proofreading and editing.
  • Dependable with a demonstrated ability for sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Strong listening skills with an approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience using Moodle or similar learning platforms is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Minimum of 2 years\' experience in an Administrative Assistant role.
