The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires a highly skilled administrative professional to fulfill a unique and challenging position. This position will provide administrative support to the Chief Innovation & Technology Officer in charge of the Innovation and Technology Bureau which includes Information Technology Division, Information Management Division, and the Integration and Innovation Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct administrative support to the Chief Innovation & Technology Officer (CITO) in charge of the Innovation and Information Bureau
  • Meeting Management & Scheduling including preparation and distribution of meeting packages and minute taking.
  • Creating, designing, and proof-reading documentation to a high standard including e-mails, letters, reports, memoranda, and presentations
  • Calendar management for the CITO
  • Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence and communications in a timely manner to ensure efficient communication flow
  • Supporting the CITO by tracking the assignment and management of tasks including providing regular status updates.
  • Preparing travel arrangements, expense claims and reconciling VISA statements
  • Tracking the Bureau Operational Plan to assist with progression of outcomes and goals
  • Assist with the research and provision of information to the CITO to inform service directives, briefing notes and other adhoc reports
  • Analyze and review monthly operating budget variance reports and provide commentary to the CITO
  • Preparing tracking sheets and assigning to their respective bureaus and divisions
  • Monitoring diary dates to ensure tracking sheets are completed on time and following up when tracking sheets are late
  • Working closely with the Office of the Chief Administrative Assistants and providing support and coverage as required
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college.
  • A minimum of four (4) years diversified word and information processing experience and providing assistance to a mid- to high-level executive.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Forms, SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Trustworthy and a high degree of integrity when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • As part of your pre-hire screening, you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program. Salary Range: 82M, Salary Grade: 009, $29.39 - $36.81 (Hourly), $1,983.50 - $2,484.50 (Bi-Weekly), $51,769.02 - $64,846.49 (Annually). General:
