Position Summary:
This position reports to the Director of HR, OD, EHS and Volunteer Services. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to others while being responsible for coordinating their own body of work in a fast paced, dynamic and ever-changing environment. This includes managing multiple priorities simultaneously, while providing timely and accurate information.
The Administrative Assistant is often the first point of contact for inquiries into employment opportunities, is responsible for supporting the application and recruitment process, ensuring its integrity and accuracy at all times and coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation and recognition events.
The Administrative Assistant also facilitates the student program at Guelph General Hospital.
A genuine enthusiasm for event coordination and engagement is essential.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources (Diploma/Certificate/Degree)
  • 1-2 years of professional office experience
  • preference given to candidates with health care experience
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with the HR Team, staff and students
  • Experience with coordinating and facilitating employee orientation and events, with a genuine interest and enthusiasm for connecting with others
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and good presentation skills
  • Superior organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft 365 (including Excel, Teams, Outlook and Power Point)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues in a professional manner
  • High level of initiative and self-direction
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with staff, students patients, families, colleagues and physicians, with the ability to be resourceful and problem solve.
