DASC is a non-profit day program and business centre supporting persons with intellectual disabilities. The Opportunity



As our Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for greeting all participants, staff, guests, and customers. You are the first point of contact to answer inquiries in person, by phone or email, and forward inquiries to the appropriate contact within the DASC team.

Strong customer service skills, including verbal and written communication and possessing a positive and professional demeanour, are essential. You will be knowledgeable about DASC programs and be able to respond to general queries about our services.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide support to members of the leadership team, especially with administrative tasks in relation to finance, fundraising, and program needs.

Our reception area is a busy, central space, so the ability to multi-task and have strong organizational skills are required. Our workplace is an inclusive and supportive space, so you will embrace the organization's mission in serving persons with intellectual disabilities. With program staff, you will welcome DASC participants in the morning, and help facilitate their pick-up later in the day. You will maintain strong relations with DASC participants, caregivers/families, staff, and board members, and with DASC partners such as accessible transportation providers and business customers.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications we seek:



Completion of post-secondary training in Office Administration Minimum 2 years' experience working in a Reception or Office Administration role Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and the full Microsoft Office suite; experience with accounting software would be considered an asset. Experience working with persons with disabilities would be considered an asset Valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle necessary for work related duties Customer service experience Finance-related tasks such as petty cash administration, record-keeping, management of databases, posting of accounts payable Bookkeeping experience considered an asset Reception/office management experience such as stocking/ordering of supplies, mail collection and distribution Current and Valid Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Persons Check and Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination
