We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Chester Art Centre. This role provides assistance to various aspects of our organization; admin, communications, workshops, events, exhibitions, and more. The ideal candidate is organized, experienced, and has an interest in art.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
Assisting with the logistics of programming/workshops (scheduling, communication with artists/participants, online admin, procurement of supplies etc)
Perform data entry tasks and maintain accurate filing systems.
Assist with minor bookkeeping tasks. Being a liaison between the Director and accounting team.
Handle inquiries and provide exceptional customer support.
Using Square/sales platform to process an art sale/donation/programming.
Assisting with exhibition opening as needed (hanging at times, open receptions, admin/communication related to an exhibition).
Helping with events and fundraisers as needed.
Occasional gallery shifts/familiar with the current and upcoming shows.
Donor relations
May be needed on the occasional Saturday as needed
Qualifications
Previous administrative experience is an asset
Familiar and comfortable using Google Workspace & Apple Computers.
Familiarity with QuickBooks for bookkeeping tasks is preferred.
Strong typing skills with attention to detail for communication with our patrons/partners
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills are essential for handling inquiries professionally.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 15 per week
