We are seeking a highly organized, reliable, efficient, and detail-oriented Medical Office Administrator to join our team at Muskoka Urology. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a busy medical office environment. This role will require proficiency in handling electronic medical records and familiarity with medical terminology to ensure smooth operations. Experience working in a clinic setting and working with an electronic medical record system is an asset, but training will be provided.?
Responsibilities
Welcome patients and visitors, manage front desk operations efficiently.
Schedule clinic appointments.
Book and coordinate surgical procedures and interface with SMMH hospital software (Novari).
Maintain electronic medical records (Accuro) accurately.
Answer phone calls, respond to messages and faxes appropriately and in a timely manner.
Assist in the preparation, change-over and organization of clinic examination spaces.
Learn to direct patient queries appropriately and communicate effectively.
Problem solve and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Requirements
Minimum Grade 12 required.
Proven experience in a front desk or administrative role within a medical or dental office setting preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, Medical Terminology Certificate an asset.
Diploma in Office Administration-Health Sciences OR evidence of related post-secondary diploma from an accredited academic institution an asset.
Familiarity with electronic medical records systems (Accuro) and hospital booking software (Novari) an asset.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
The ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients and staff.
Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
Proficient in using office equipment and phone systems.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and adhere to privacy legislation required.
Regular and reliable attendance is an expected requirement of this position.
