The bilingual administrative assistant will work as part of the Finance team to provide support services within the Prince Edward Island Field Unit including:
Providing administrative support and actions to the Finances team
Providing client services in person and on the phone in both official languages
Preparing correspondence and managing generic email accounts
Providing information and advice to clients including selling passes
Maintaining information systems and other records
Providing administrative support to the PEI Field Unit when required
Secondary support to revenue management
Intent of the process
Anticipatory selection process to prepare for potential employment opportunities.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions in future years, and with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in the same or other parts of the country.
Language requirements (essential for the job)
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB) - Parks Canada, as required by the Official Languages Act, provides services to visitors in English and French. Successful candidates must obtain second language evaluation results in reading, writing and speaking in their second language (English or French) prior to hiring.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary education (Gr 12) or provincial equivalency.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing administrative support services.
Experience in providing service to clients by telephone, in person, and/or in writing.
Experience in using various software programs such as Microsoft Office.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of general office administration practices and procedures.
Knowledge of payment processing, and general cash control procedures.
ABILITIES
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish priorities and organize work in order to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to use software programs to produce documents and enter data.
Ability to edit and proofread documents.

Pay: $57,397.00-$61,953.00 per year
