Job Description


The Registrar\'s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Admissions, the Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Associate Director, Assistant Registrars, and to the Undergraduate Admissions team.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the admissions team, which includes communications with current and prospective students, guidance counselors, departments, international agents and staff regarding admission requirements, University policies, application troubleshooting, registration procedures and academic deadlines.
  • Schedule and manage high volumes of student appointments.
  • Coordinate/process exchange applicants, such as receipt of inbound exchange applications, processing applicants and supplementary documentation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Director, Admissions, such as attending to inquiries by phone, in person and mail. Book meetings and space, as required.
Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Business/Office Administration diploma with at least three to five years\' experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Assets
  • Experience in a university environment.
  • Knowledge of the Ellucian Banner system.
