Administrative Assistant (6 Months Contract) - Edmonton




This is a 6-month contract position.





An administrative assistant with Brownlee LLP is the supportive force behind the Administrative team to ensure the success of our people and processes. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who has excellent communication skills and impeccable attention to detail. The candidate should also have experience working in an office environment, performing administrative tasks, and providing support to coworkers. An ability to multitask, manage complex schedules, and meet changing deadlines is essential to the position.



Key Responsibilities:


Administration of firm policies and procedures Provide administrative support to the HR manager and assist with multiple ongoing projects Coordinate internal and external resources to expedite workflow Provide backup for reception: Answering calls, taking messages, and redirecting calls Support in onboarding and offboarding staff Key contact person for building facilities and issues Plan and prepare for staff functions and events Maintain a record-keeping system for files, contacts, and staff Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:


Post-secondary education certification, preferably in Business Administration or a similar field A minimum of 2 years as an Administrative Assistant (or similar role) within a professional services environment, ideally at a law firm Superior organizational skills, with the ability to proactively problem-solve and manage competing priorities Strong professional presence and conduct Established knowledge of Office 365 (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail Superior oral and written communication skills with a collaborative and diplomatic operational style Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize, handle competing tasks and ability to meet urgent deadlines Demonstrated ability to work independently and to collaborate successfully in a team environment

Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
