Your Opportunity:
As an Addiction Counsellor III, your major areas of responsibility as part of the Community Addiction Services team, will include: providing intake, assessment and counselling services to individuals, families and groups; being familiar with, and making appropriate referrals to community agencies and groups; researching, developing and evaluating alcohol, other drug and gambling prevention programs and projects including community presentations; and providing consultation to individuals, agencies and groups with respect to substance abuse and gambling. Some evening work is required. As an Addiction Counselor III, you will depend on your relationship building skills with clients, families, government staff and colleagues. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
