Job Description

Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) is a community-based addiction treatment service provider that strives to provide the highest quality of evidence-based addiction treatment and case management services. Fourcast offers services across 5 sites in the region. The community treatment program staff work in-office and community settings and are often co-located and integrated with other organizations to reduce barriers for those accessing services.

About The Position...



This is a full time position Monday to Friday working one evening a week either Tuesday or Wednesday.



Fourcast's Addiction Counsellors provides evidence-based addiction screening, assessment, and treatment interventions that utilize Motivation Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and other approaches aimed to improve service user recovery and change outcomes. Counselling is provided in individual and group settings and can include working with those wanting to make changes to their substance use and/or gambling, or others who are impacted by another's substance use and/or gambling.

The Addiction Counsellor works collaboratively with other Fourcast programs and community resources to navigate supports that best suit a service user's plans for change. Case consultation, case conferencing and advocacy with community partners and services are an integral part of the Addiction Counsellor role.

What We're Looking For:



Education:

Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or related degree, with a postgraduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in a related position preferred, ideally in a community-based setting. Advanced skills in addictions interventions including counselling/therapy, crisis intervention, advocacy, mediation, and conflict resolution. Demonstrated experience working with people with serious mental illness and complex personal needs. Experience using evidence-based screening and assessment tools.
Certificate, Licenses and Records

Valid Ontario Class G driver's license. Valid First Aid/CPR. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate. Certification in GAIN assessment would be an asset. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset. Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
