ABOUT THE ROLE

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, Withdrawal Management Program, the Addiction Crisis Worker (ACW) is responsible for the physical well-being of the clients and environment involved in the withdrawal management program. Key responsibilities include admitting and assessing individuals suffering from substance abuse; safely managing withdrawal and/or safely sobering from substance use and their safe exit after, providing support, service planning and stabilization; performing all routine duties in maintaining a withdrawal management program.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:


Minimum two (2) years post secondary education in a Human Services field (eg. addictions social work psychology) and/or a combination of addictions training and previous working experience in an addiction field Previous experience in behaviour management Current CPR and First Aid certification





Skills/Abilities:


Working knowledge of addiction issues, crisis management and conflict resolution skills Well-developed written and oral communication skills and excellent time management skills Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills




Asset:


Experience with computer based data entry is an asset




Conditions of Employment:


This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory

Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)

where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions. Ability to work flexible and irregular hours as required Valid Ontario driver's license: Class G
