Addiction Counsellor / Group Facilitator

Qualifications



This position requires the completion of a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Addiction Studies or related field. This position requires an Addiction Counseling Certification and at least two years of Group Facilitation experience. Equivalent experience may be considered in special circumstances.

Duties & Responsibilities



A. ADMINISTRATION DUTIES



1. Accurate and secure file management.

2. Enter program sessions and monitor client attendance.

3. FYI attendance and support notes input.

4. Ensuring the completion and filing of incident reports.

B. CLIENT RELATIONS



1. Positive interaction with clients to ensure their needs are met (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual).

2. Ensure the implementation of a person-centered / family-centered plan and support the treatment plan as part of the Clinical Team.

3. Facilitation of general and specialized process groups and day programming as scheduled. Group sizes range from five to twenty-five individuals.

4. Provide clients with mental and emotional support as required, including meeting with clients one-on-one.

5. Motivate clients to pursue their recovery program as they see it.

6. Meet clients where they are at and provide an open-minded and trusted ear for them to feel safe when they are ready to ask for help. Advocate for the clients whenever necessary.

7. Complete appropriate referrals to other agencies when required.

8. Facilitate the transition process, including arrangements for follow up services

9. Participation in wrap-around meetings with Case Worker, Social Worker, family and other supports.

C. EXTERNAL RELATIONS



1. Promotes through relationships, Residents in Recovery Society to community businesses.

2. Participate in wellness fairs, service clubs, and other events that provide an opportunity to promote our programs and center.

3. Represent the programs and point of view of the organization to agencies, organizations, and the public.

4. Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, funders, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.

5. Maintain positive relations with all leaseholders, suppliers, and community programming volunteers.

D. HEALTH AND SAFETY



1. Monitor clients to ensure they are not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

2. Ensure clients adhere to company policies and procedures related to Health and Safety.

E. OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED



Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
