Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) is an acute care hospital located in Cornwall, Ontario along the scenic St. Lawrence River. CCH provides a full range of acute inpatient, outpatient and community mental health services to a catchment area of 100,000 people from the communities of Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and to the Mohawk community of Akwesasne.

Summary of responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Child and Youth Mental Health Services, the Addiction & Mental Health Therapist (Therapist) works collaboratively with individuals who are experiencing significant addiction, mental health and concurrent disorders that affect their functioning in some areas such as at home, school/work and/or in the community. The Therapist will offer support, counselling and psychotherapy to clients and their family/loved ones, utilizing a variety of clinical methodologies. The Therapist will also conduct consultations with caregivers and other professionals. The Therapist is responsible for managing the clients' file and developing collaborative care plans along with performing some intake duties, ongoing assessments, psychotherapy, and treatment referral. The Therapist delivers a range of specialized mental health therapy services and participates in other requirements of the organization. As well, the Addiction and Mental Health Therapist may be required to do presentations inside and outside the organization.

Requirements of the job
Four (4) year university degree in social sciences
Registered with an Ontario College whose members are authorized to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
Minimum three (3) years working experience delivering a range of psychotherapy interventions with youth experiencing significant symptoms of mental health
Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
Has received training and supervision in various treatment modalities specific to mental health treatment such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Informed Therapy
Ability to be organized and autonomous, and have good team-work capabilities
Ability to engage with vulnerable children, youth and their families
Ability to provide in office or /and community out reach interventions
Use case conceptualization to inform treatment planning
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Good computer skills
Knowledge of community agencies
Valid driver's license and access to own vehicle
Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
