JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the General Manager of ADC Canada, this position will be responsible for all aspects of Diabetes Marketing, National Account programs / management, and external operations such as Customer Service and Broker overage.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning Process

  • Partner with Controller in preparation of Plan and Update cycles.
  • Manage all advertising budgets to ensure goals are met within budget.
  • Participate in monthly Finance reviews.
  • Participate in Financial Plan presentations to Abbott Senior Management.
  • Coordinate with National Account team in partnership with the Demand Manager in the development of accurate SKU-level Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) forecasts
  • Participate in the financial planning process (i.e. Q-rLBEs); coordinate with National Account to set account-level sales goals and analyse / explain variances
Portfolio Management
  • Responsible for development of annual Marketing strategic plan and development of ta
  • Identify opportunities to promote ADC Portfolio within the Diabetes category.
  • Responsible for effective execution of all Marketing programs.
  • Lead development and execution of Cycle promotions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of new product launches, including:
- market opportunity identification

- pre-launch forecast and marketing plan

- key opinion leader development

- products launch execution (translation, pricing, etc.)
  • Consumer and Digital Marketing
  • Lead Consumer marketing manager and interface with media and advertising agencies and WW team
  • Responsible for all Consumer and digital media campaigns
  • Build social media strategy, provide and maintain all content
  • Interact with external partners such as Media agency, Digital Marketing firms and internal resources (local and international)
  • Assure Division Website\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction & consistency and drive implementation.
  • Lead, manage & track digital marketing strategy and budget for ADC Portfolio
  • Determine social media direction, align internally, launch and manage the FreeStyle brands engagement through community
CHE and Stakeholder management
  • Lead the National and Regional CHE team.
  • Build trust and maintain relationships with key influencers and decision makers to build long term professional relationship at the health care executives (i.e. MPPs, Ministries of Health and Transportation, other policy makers), industry leaders (i.e.. MEDEC) patient groups (i.e. Canadian Diabetes Association, JDRF), Key Opinion Leaders (KOL\xe2\x80\x99s) and CHE professionals.
  • Serve as company\xe2\x80\x99s liaison with relevant federal and provincial government policy makers and patient association contacts. Provide ADC with informed direction, guidance and leadership in its relationship with all parties.
  • Lead medical experts/key stakeholders and members of the scientific community by utilizing scientific and medical evidence-based information.
  • Serve as liaison with relevant government policy makers and patient association contacts.
  • Develop and help the team implement CHE strategies that align with business objectives and customer needs.
Customer Service and Distribution
  • Lead Customer Service team and third party agencies
  • Manage customer service and e-commerce operations with responsibility for implementing new processes and systems that produce high quality customer service that best meets customer needs in the most cost effective and strategic manner.
  • Define, design, build and implement a new distribution model to support ADC Canada business objectives, marketing strategy and product offering.
  • React to internal and external customers by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures to ensure operations are in compliance and to promote positive business relationships
  • E-commerce responsibility by formulating steps, resources/investment and implementation plan, including IT needs and requirements to meet customer needs.
  • Assess build vs. buy IT solutions for our customers.
Customer Relationship Management
  • Create and lead the overarching CRM strategy for the organization in terms of customer retention, acquisition, churn and revenue, in consultation with General Manager and in line with business objectives taking into account current and future customer requirements and operational needs.
  • Lead and manage implementation of innovative CRM programs that maximize customer intimacy and customer retention via diverse channels and customer touch-points
  • Ensure leadership, management and continuous innovation of CRM programs (integrated multi-channel communication, customer centricity, closed loop marketing, business intelligence) by setting up and implementing tactics, structures, processes, technology according to modern CRM standards that maximize customer intimacy & loyalty in order to strengthen ADC\xe2\x80\x99s leading market position and image.
Project Management
  • Lead identified work streams with the GM
  • Responsible for implementing and leading launch-related projects that meet the strategic needs of the organization according to deadlines and within resource budgets.
  • Coordinate the progress of several cross-function teams (Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, Distribution, Market Access, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, IT, Legal, etc.), adjusting a complex project plan based on shifting timelines, identifying project risks, and establishing a governance structure to ensure timely project status reporting to senior leadership

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIORS REQUIRED FOR THE ROLE:

KEY CHARACTERISTICS:

This position requires strong analytical skills, as significant analysis and insights work will need to be done. In addition, the preparation for financial planning cycles will be a key responsibility. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills will be required to manage the internal and external teams, as well as facilitate interaction with the WW Marketing team. Ability to work with autonomy will also be important, as the individual will frequently be in a position where critical decisions must be made without further consultation. Excellent communication skills are required to clearly express the ADC Canada strategic direction to senior management and WW Marketing, as well as provide direction to the Canadian sales team, internal and external staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • University degree (science background) or M.S. degree preferably in a technical field (e.g., biological or chemical sciences)
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing Management with well-established multi-national global company, preferred in diabetes, medical devices or retail pharmacy industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience and minimum 5 years of experience in product management area.
  • Fully proficient in English and French.
  • Proven ability to lead a team, and effective management of indirect influence and leadership (management and ability to influence other supporting functions)
  • Direct experience with product launches, and development of the go-to-market (GTM) approach in the particular region (global or other regional experience is added benefit), in the healthcare and life science space.
  • Excellent collaboration skills \xe2\x80\x93 able to navigate complex matrix within the Division and the broader Abbott organization to ensure alignment of priorities and partnership throughout program execution.
  • Positive attitude, confidence, integrity and professionalism. Initiative and self-motivation; strong work ethic; leadership and team orientation; strong proactive interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with others; ability to work in a matrixed environment, strong cross-functional management by influence.
