Salary:

Job Overview

As a member of our Reserving function, you will lead the completion of high-quality valuation analysis, as well the financial and regulatory reporting of our actuarial reserves. Your focus will be on deriving insights from this analysis and communicating these to our key stakeholders. In addition, you will prioritize improving the sophistication of our actuarial financial reporting through process enhancements, automation, data manipulation, reporting capabilities, and advancement of our reserving techniques. Providing contributions to the actuarial group based on your knowledge from the actuarial exam system, as well as your prior relevant academic and work experience is expected. You will be a mentor and coach for actuarial analysts while working through complex analysis in the pursuit of solving business problems and answering business questions.
We are open to three levels: Senior Actuarial Analyst, Actuarial Consultant, or Senior Actuarial Consultant level.

Qualifications
------------------
Post-secondary degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related discipline
More than four years of actuarial experience an asset
Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society or equivalent (is considered an asset)
Advanced knowledge of actuarial science, mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business, and strong ability to apply this knowledge to problems in insurance
Ability to develop efficient and viable solutions to problems and assess impacts of these solutions
Advanced proficiency with SQL and R, and/or other related programming languages
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI and/or equivalent
Advanced proficiency in reserving software such as Arius
Ability to easily adapt to new enterprise system environments
Effective communicator with proven presentation skills
Works well in a team setting, contributes to team spirit and shared objectives
Adept at supporting and mentoring colleagues
Works openly and transparently in collaboration with business partners
Shows strong initiative, autonomy, and a desire to win
