We have an opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst to join our actuarial team at our Richmond office.In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll report to the Associate Actuary in the Actuarial Services Department. • Research, analyze and provide solutions on various actuarial / finance issues
• Develop and maintain current in-depth knowledge of WorkSafe BC\xe2\x80\x99s databases and expertise with data query and WorkSafe BC\xe2\x80\x99s financial statements
• Assist in calculating the actuarial liabilities
• Assist in calculating the annual assessment rates
• Assist in financial modeling using tools such as database queries, statistical applications, actuarial formulae, etc
• Create formal reports, presentations and submissions summarizing and interpreting analytical results

• Research and prepare actuarial analysis reports, statistical tables and graphs
• Gather information, identify issues, logically analyze problems and generate solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with non-actuarial areas of WorkSafe BC
• High attention to details
• Willingness to report results in an unbiased manner

Your background and experience

• An undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and working knowledge in SQL and Microsoft Access
• Basic knowledge of financial statements
• Successful completion of two or more actuarial exams of the Society of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society
• A minimum of one year of recent directly related work experience
• Knowledge and experience of machine learning will be an asset
