Job Description

Orchard View Gardens is currently looking for a creative, outgoing, individual to assist the Recreation Director to plan and execute a variety of group activities for our Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Living Residents.

Position Details:

15-30 hours per week Day shift (9-6pm) Alternate weekends
Key Responsibilities:

Help design, plan and carry out daily activities with residents Research new or different activities and events Assist with special events Assist serving food and drinks to residents in Assisted Living Dining Room Assist with Residents Activities on Memory Care floor Documentation of resident's participation levels Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all residents Engage and encourage residents to try new things
Key Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 education Friendly and outgoing. Enjoys working with seniors. Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Currently resides in and is legally entitled to work in Canada

This is an entry level position so training will be provided.

Assets:

Experience in a Retirement home environment Experience working with seniors with Dementia/Alzheimer's Smart Serve Certified

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Almonte, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:

working with seniors: 1 year (preferred)
