We are looking for a positive, dynamic student to support the Activities Coordinator to develop and organize fun, educational & engaging programs, wellness services & socialization events that appeal to older adults in the community. Reporting to the Board of Directors through the Activities Coordinator, the Activities Assistant will handle the logistics associated with the activities and assist in the development of future programs and events at the Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre.
This is a summer position and will end August 22, 2025
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to the Activities Coordinator with all assigned tasks and additional duties as needed
Assist in organizing and managing summer programs, including promotion, advertising, liaising with instructors, booking rooms, identifying equipment needs and associated costs, and leading select activities
Promote The Centre's programs and services to members and the broader community
Help prepare, publish, and distribute the monthly event calendar and newsletter
Contribute content and updates to The Centre's website and social media platforms
Input and manage member data to support analysis of membership trends and demographics
Support the delivery of The Centre's programs and services, staff, and Board of Directors by performing various administrative tasks such as data entry, preparing promotional materials, welcoming and checking in participants, and processing registrations and payments
Additional Requirements & Qualifications:
Post secondary education a preference with focus on recreation and leisure
Experience &/or training in recreation, fitness and leisure
Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office 365
Knowledge and experience creating content and graphics for social media
Current certification in Standard First Aid/ Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/ AED or willingness to obtain certification
Experience working with older adults would be an asset
