Duties and Responsibilities

1) Completed or enrolled in Activation, Gerontology, Recreation therapy or other degree with gerontology/activation courses at the college or university level.

2) Organized, shows initiative, creative, evidence of leadership skills, and empathy.

3) Able to implement Life Enrichment Department procedures and policies in a productive and efficient manner while being a team player.

4) Able to practice and maintain confidentiality regarding both resident and administration information.

5) Excellent communication skills, effective listening skills, written and oral English language skills, other languages an asset. Computer literacy is a definite asset.

6) Is able to follow and maintain Bethany Lodge's health and safety policies and procedures. Keep work areas clean and safe from hazards at all times. Participate in risk management activities to prevent accidents from happening.

7) Experience working with seniors in long-term care doing therapeutic programming, preferred.
